VA MEMORIAL STADIUM Chillicothe, Ohio  

 

DARBY VS COFFMAN 

 

The Veterans Administration Memorial Stadium located on the V.A. Medical Center campus. The stadium is located just 3 miles north of Chillicothe, Ohio on State Route 104. It was constructed in 1954 by the, "Blue Star Mothers of America.”  A commemorative plaque attached to the wall in the concession area of the stadium reads, "In Living Remembrance of Those Who Served to Preserve the Ideals of this Nation and in Love of Fellow Man."

Originally, the stadium and playing surface were to provide a place for softball games, played by the thousands of veterans who were long-term patients at the V.A. Medical Facility.
